So, the basic idea behind my blog is the random. I asked my friends for songs that repeatedly run through their heads, then I took as many as I could, chopped them up, and mixed them into a single song. Out of about 25 songs I think I've included 10. Next I wrote down all the random things my friends have said over a two week period, took the oddest, and the best and made a movie stating those phrases combining them with pictures or video if able. I did the two independently of each other.
I'm not sure where my project stands currently. I'm in a state of limbo really.

Maybe you can do pictures of the people that said a specific song, then add pictures of other people who said the same thing.
Then potentially you could transition quote slides by using words that are in each sentence ... I don't know.
I think the randomness has kind of boxed you in here ... find some commonality in their randomness and aim for that.
I like the idea you have. Everyone gets random songs in their heads. I think maybe that you should focus on one thing or the other. Random is always good, but I agree with Dave in that it would be helpful for you to find commonalities in the random parts of the project. This would also help you with creating the meta-text.
Well, both of your ideas sound great. They certainly have collaboration and sound very interesting.
I especially like the song idea. Everyone has songs stuck in their head (probably frequently) and you have taken this everyday phenomenon and turned it into a "new" song, idea. I like how the randomness, a new, chopped-up song, is created by the everyday.
The other idea sounds great, too, but I think that the song idea is stronger.
I think that you meet the criteria the projects asks, and that you have sufficient documentation of participants, no matter which direction you take it. Sounds good! ERiN
Stephen: Great topic. We've all got those songs in our head. Are there silences too? (What if there's no song.) The movie sounds excellent too. John Cage once said of things like this: if it seems boring at first, keep watching or listening, it will be interesting soon enough. I don't think the movie and song need to be connected for the project, though I imagine if this continued as an exploration you would want to connect them...
