Thoughts of Project 1

I'm thinking of creating my own form of hieroglyphs that replace letters, thoughts, and words. I'm probably going rewrite civil war letters in this fashion.

I'm not sure if this actually works with the project. Also, I don't know if I need to add the translation of the hieroglyphs.

I say-please add the translations! I'm not sure if I understand correctly, but your audience may lose some of the effect of your project because they won't know what it means.

Stephen: This seems like a great project. So, we would find a re-written civil war letter in your hieroglyphics. The poet Armand Schwerner did a related project in his quite amazing "Tablets." I don't think you need to add a translation, but I would like to hear in the metatext about some of the motivation for this. Why hieroglyphs? Why civil war letters? I think, also, as you design the hieroglyphs, you'll need to decide how much they resemble/partake of familiar images or letters... what part is decipherable?

Oh, a link to Schwerner's Tablets. http://www.thing.net/~grist/ld/tablet1.htm. Not exactly hieroglyphs, but made up translations of a nonexistent language.
