Project 5: Final
Before delving really deep into it, there is some information that you need to know. The world this site takes place in is earth in the year 2028. Recently a massive cataclysm has destroyed a the vast majority of humanity and the towns and cities of the world. An agency, known as the UEC (United Earth Council) has risen up connect the survivors in the world. Part of the UEC is the UEA (United Earth Army) which is used to protect the cities and areas that have joined the UEC.
Anyways, for my project I created a website that was made by a guy who is compiling strange stories. This includes a mysterious group of five people who are sited in different towns before, during, or after these strange events.
The different stories are actually plot points in an RPG (Role-Playing Game; aka D&D) that I play with my friends. Because of this, I also found it fitting for my friends to write the letters and emails or draw the pictures used in the sire.
I found it interesting to actually look at the events through a different lens. Normally, our characters just travel from place to place and do what's needed. This makes us think about the people who see our characters. This is especially important, because the characters tend to use magic. Most people in the game don't know that magic exists so this makes them stand out. Also, their overall appearance is memorable. Of course some of the events that the characters were a part of happened without any witnesses or people who will divulge the information of their existence, so the person running the site mentions the events, but not that the characters were involved.
What I find really interesting about this project is that I am creating a false reality based off a false reality that's partially based off reality (pretty much the fact that it takes place on earth).
The hardest part about this project was making the website. I just kept running into problems while making and loading everything. Even after I finally got all the files uploaded things still didn't work right. Some of the pictures are missing and the visual design is missing.
Finally, I enjoyed the fact that I could reuse my video from Project 2, because the person the movie was about is one of the NPC (Non-Player Characters) of the game.

Project five-age
It's going to be a website where a young man is compiling all the information he can about a group of people who seem to always be where the action is. I'm going to do this through sketches, stories, pictures (if I possible), videos (extremely rare, but maybe), etc. I am also going to document where things happen using google maps.
Basically it is going to be similar to this website: Who is Doctor Who, which is a site for the TV show Doctor Who.

Project 5: yet again
There will be two groups of people for this project: Players and Characters.
I'm still a bit hazy on the specifics or if I'm even going to actually do this.
*EDIT*
Ignore this post.
Blogging/internet
I do think that the internet is highly participatory, however I don't believe that participation has the same effect as face to face human interaction.

Project 5?
Maybe something to do with Dungeons and Dragons in real life. In other words, translating the rule systems of D&D and applying them to real life for a short period of time. This could be done using a house or some area that can be gridded into defined spaces. There would be Players and Characters...

Project 4: Final
META-TEXT
For this project, I wanted to look into the idea of random or rather what is and isn't random. To start with I asked all my friends to tell me what song(s) enter their head randomly durring the day. I got a number of songs and more than a few comments about the quality of the songs. I then took all of the songs and put them into a single file folder. After this I used Audacity, randomly selecting songs, cutting them up, and mixing them together linerally.
After this I spent the next week just listening to my friends and taking notes when ever they would say something randomly. Using this, I then found pictures, clips, or just plain wrote out the words. I did this independently of the music so that I wouldn't try to link up the two.
From this I noticed some interesting things. Many of the songs naturally flow into one another making the music almost seamless. The best place to point this out is when a song by Cascada goes into a song by O-Zone and it seems natural. There are also points where the song and video link up. The best place this is found is when 'Frank Sinatra' turns into 'I Set My Friends On Fire' which is a scremo band and at the same time a picture of the iconic scene from Red Dawn appears.
Sitting back and looking at this brings about the question, what is random? Or maybe even better, can randomness exist? Even with out a pattern in mind, a pattern still arises. Is it possible that subconsciously I remembered the song and made the movie to match? Honestly I can't really answer any of these questions, they just made me think.

About project 4
I'm not sure where my project stands currently. I'm in a state of limbo really.
